About ecoworks

ecoworks is a leader in serial renovation, pioneering this approach in Germany and continuously refining it since 2019. As a trusted partner to the housing industry, we deliver affordable, energy-efficient renovations for clients ranging from small cooperatives to large housing groups, supporting them from the initial concept through to scalable, serial implementation. By shifting 80% of the work from the construction site to the factory, we enable our customers to economically transform their entire portfolios toward climate neutrality.

Today’s environment is challenging: interest rates are at their peak, construction costs have climbed due to supply chain issues, skilled labor is in short supply, and funding conditions have become unpredictable. The list of obstacles is long.

At ecoworks, we believe it’s time to rethink energy-efficient renovation and introduce new solutions for the housing industry. With a team of over 130 employees, we are constantly advancing our product, increasing automation and standardization to meet the needs of the market and drive the future of sustainable building renovation.

Benefits of Serial Renovation from ecoworks

What sets us apart

First serial renovation

We were the first company in Germany to implement serial renovation and have been advancing this approach since 2019. Our innovative facade modules are at the core of our work. Using comprehensive, reliable data, each module is custom-made in the factory and comes fully equipped with integrated windows, ventilation, insulation, and building services—ready for immediate installation on site.

The entire renovation process is highly digitalized and automated, allowing us to deliver projects quickly and with consistent quality.

Quality & optimization

With our innovative product and continuously optimized digital processes, we provide the housing and real estate sector with top-tier support in decarbonizing their portfolios. In just a few weeks, we can upgrade existing properties from the “worst performing buildings” to KfW standard 40 EE (energy efficiency).

We offer a complete, turnkey solution, from initial planning through to final implementation. Working closely with our clients, we pursue excellence and leverage our expertise and commitment to help them achieve outstanding results.

Target market

Nearly half of all apartment buildings in Germany—46%—are in urgent need of renovation. ecoworks delivers an all-in-one system solution for properties with poor energy efficiency, upgrading them to meet building standards A to A+ (25–40 kWh/m²/a). Our approach focuses on renovating large properties (over 1,500 m²) using industrial production methods, allowing us to shift up to 80% of the work from the construction site to the factory for faster turnaround.

We support our clients not only with comprehensive portfolio analysis, but also by identifying which properties are best suited for serial renovation within their portfolio.

Everything from a single source

With serial renovation, we deliver the technology, financial viability, and capacity needed to transform buildings from energy efficiency classes E to H. Our expertise covers every stage, from project development and planning to production, execution, and achieving climate-neutral operation.

As a general contractor, we support housing companies of all sizes, from small cooperatives to large housing groups, guiding them from the initial idea through to large-scale, serial implementation.

Sealing products for building envelopes complete the overall system.

Masterplan Solarcity

The Masterplan Solarcity is the operational instrument of the Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises to support the ambitious goal of becoming climate-neutral as quickly as possible. The extensive use of solar energy is a key component, as it represents a significant share of the city's renewable energy potential. To achieve this goal, solar systems with a capacity of around 4,400 megawatts need to be installed on Berlin’s rooftops. This requires creative local approaches and strong partners who, for example, come together within the Masterplan’s partnership network.
