Serial Refurbishment in Merseburg: Energy-Efficient Modernization of an Apartment Block

In Merseburg, we partnered with TAG Immobilien AG to develop a simple, scalable solution for serial refurbishment — transferable to thousands of similar post-war buildings across Germany.
The four-storey residential building from 1958, with 32 apartments, was comprehensively modernized in a very short time.

🏗️ Flying facades: Within just ten working days, the building received a new, highly insulated envelope using industrially prefabricated facade elements — minimally invasive and without scaffolding.

⚡ Technical upgrades: New facade-routed drinking water and electrical risers, basement ceiling insulation, and optimized roof insulation significantly improve efficiency.

🏡 Better living quality: New entrances, new balcony towers, and a refreshed facade design enhance comfort and appearance.

✅ The result: An Effizienzhaus 55 with a modern look, high energy performance, and satisfied residents.
